Year after year we have endured fishing closures and variable salmon returns. Unless we step up now to protect our salmon, our seafood economy and fishing jobs could be put at even greater risk by out-of-state corporations destroying vital salmon habitat.

• Supports balanced, sustainable development—projects that expand our economy, develop our infrastructure, and grow jobs—without threatening our wild salmon runs and Alaskan way of life. 

 

• Ensures salmon streams are protected for the long term by safeguarding water quality, fish passage, and spawning and rearing habitat.

 

• Creates real accountability, forcing foreign mining corporations to pay for the clean-up of mega development projects on or near vital wild salmon habitat—so Alaska taxpayers won’t be left holding the bill.
